Professor Dr. Wichian Premchaiswadi

ศ.ดร. วิเชียร เปรมชัยสวัสดิ์

Vice President and Dean of Graduate School of Information Technology

Dr. Wichian Premchaiswadi is currently the Dean and Associate Professor of Graduate School of Information Technology at Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand. He also works as an Vice President at Siam University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Khon Kaen University and his Master’s degree in Computer from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He received a scholarship from the Hitachi Scholarship Foundation to complete his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. At Waseda University, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Seinosuke Narita and Prof. Dr. Hironori Kasahara in the area of Parallel Processing and High Speed Computing. After coming back from Japan, he worked as the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University. Then he moved to King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and acted as the Dean of Faculty of Information Technology before he joined Siam University. At Siam University in 2005, he established both of the Master’s degree and the Doctoral degree programs in Information Technology at Siam University in affiliation with University of Pittsburgh, USA. His research interests include Parallel Computing, Process Mining, Database Systems, Data Mining, High Speed Computing, Decision Support Systems, E-learning, Images Processing and Robotics. In 2008, he received “The Best Researcher Award" from the Association of Private Higher Education Institution of Thailand (APHEIT). He is a member of many professional organizations such as Senior Member of IEEE, member of ACM, ISACA and IEICE. He has served as Steering Committee and Organizing Committee Chair of IEEE International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering (ICT & KE) annually held from 2004 to present. Furthermore, he currently contributes in many professional associations in Thailand including Vice President of Thai Federation of ICT Technology Association (TFIT) and Secretary General of The Computer Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King (CAT).
